Over 8,000 Sites Now Using Walk Score Professional

Just two months ago we shared that the Walk Score Professional network had passed 6,000 sites and we are thrilled to say that Walk Score Professional is now being used by over 8,000 sites. Wow! And thank you!

Why is Walk Score growing so fast? A recent study conducted by the National Association of Realtors indicated that commute times (we launched custom Commute Reports in February) and places to walk are two of the top three community characteristics for home shoppers. As NAR president Ron Phipps said, “many home buyers want walkable, transit-accessible communities.” Walkability matters!

But don’t take our word for it. Here’s what some Walk Score Professional sites have to say:

“For my buyers, walkability is almost equal to price as the most important criterion.” Stephanie Somers, Realtor at RE/MAX Access

“Walk Score increases engagement on our site.” Michael D’Alba, Director of Business Development, ForRent.com

“We implemented Walk Score in hours. It was significantly cheaper than building something similar ourselves.” Mark Silva, Development Lead, ZipRealty.com

“Walk Score helps us deliver more qualified leads for landlords.” Mark Moran, VP of Marketing, MyNewPlace.com

We’ve been very pleased with using Walkscore on all the real estate websites we develop. It’s an impressive feature that site visitors love, and your professional version keeps getting better and better. With the Commute Report function added this year, people who are searching for a home to buy or rent don’t have to leave our customer’s websites to Google the distance to work.

Integrating Walkscore (along with Education.com for school listings) is definitely the way to go. Thanks for continuing to expand the features of Walkscore, which helps my company deliver top notch real estate web design for our clients.

Walk Score is officially supported in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. We’ve heard from our users that the Google data we rely on is less accurate outside of the United States.

Because we’re a small team and due to the reliance on Google data, we are not currently planning on expanding this list.
